STEVE COHEN

Executive Producer

Steven Cohen is an attorney and political activist based in Chicago, Illinois. Through his family foundation, Steve is co-producer/co-executive producer of numerous award winning independent documentaries, including Hell and Back Again, The Island President, Detropia, and How to Survive a Plague.  

In 2001, Steve co-founded the Cohen Law Group, which brings lawsuits on behalf of citizen whistleblowers against private sector companies who are engaging in fraud against taxpayer funded programs. Steve sits on a number of academic and non-profit Boards that focus on youth engagement and education reform. In September 2012, President Obama nominated Steve to the Board of the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation, a federally funded independent foundation, which provides scholarships to students seeking planning for professional careers in public service.
